We’ll leave the grilling up to you—but we have some great Memorial Day drink ideas that are sure to kick off the summer right.

Sweet Tea for Memorial Day

You’ll need a pinch of baking soda, 2 cups of boiling water, 6 tea bags, ¾ cup white sugar, and 6 cups of cool water. Sprinkle a pinch of baking soda into a 64 ounce, heat proof glass pitcher. Pour in the boiling water and add the tea bags. Cover, and let it steep for 15 minutes. Remove the tea bags, and stir in the sugar until it’s dissolved. Pour in the cool water and refrigerate. Once it’s cooled down, sip and enjoy!

Orange Lemonade

Nothing says “summer” like a sweet fruit drink. This orange lemonade is sure to hit the spot. You’ll need 4 ¼ cups of water, 1 cup sugar, ¾ cup lemon juice, ¾ cup orange juice, 2 teaspoons grated lemon peel, 1 teaspoon grated orange peel, ice cubes, and lemon slices.

In your saucepan, bring 1 ¼ cups of water and sugar to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes. Cool the water. Transfer the water to a pitcher and add lemon and orange juices and peels. Cover and refrigerate it for at least an hour. Stir in the remaining water and serve over ice. You can garnish with lemon if you want.

Happy Memorial Day!
