However, when you\u2019re rushing around trying to get out the door, perhaps turning the lights off is last on your mind. You can save the big bucks by just remember to shut off your closet light when you leave!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Turn the heat down at night<\/strong>: Yes, it is important to stay warm during these cold months, but you also need to realize how much heat is enough. When you go to sleep at night, turning down your heat to around 60-65 degrees (depending on the temperature outside) will save you on your energy bill.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Having blinds that keep the heat in<\/strong>: Thicker blinds on your windows can help you save significantly on your energy bill.
